38 STUDIOS APPOINTS TWO KEY EXECUTIVES TO LEADERSHIP TEAM

Maynard, MA — 

38 Studios, LLC announces two new appointments to its executive team based at the company's Maynard, MA headquarters. Rick Wester takes on the role of Chief Financial Officer and Denise Kaigler joins as Chief Marketing Officer. Both appointments were effective in February. Wester reports to Bill Thomas, the Chief Operating Officer of 38 Studios. Kaigler reports to Jen MacLean, the company's President and Chief Executive Officer.

In his new role, Wester oversees all of the company's internal and external financial affairs, including current and long-term financial planning.

Wester joins 38 Studios with more than eighteen years of experience in startup and high growth environments, primarily focused on software and IT services. In addition, he has five years of experience working as a Certified Public Accountant. This prior experience includes budgeting and planning, fundraising, technical accounting, IPO, and public company reporting as a Chief Financial Officer.

Kaigler is responsible for all of the company's marketing activities, including internal and external communications, public relations, product strategy, market research, and branding and positioning for the company as a whole and for all products, including an original fantasy IP. Kaigler works closely with the development teams at multiple studios, including Big Huge Games, a wholly-owned subsidiary of 38 Studios.

Prior to joining 38 Studios, Kaigler served as Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Nintendo of America. In that role, she directed Nintendo's corporate communications, government relations, internal communications, public relations, and entertainment and trend marketing. In addition, Kaigler has more than sixteen years of experience in the athletic and casual footwear and apparel industry, where she held numerous marketing communications positions at Reebok, Rockport and the adidas Group.
