Ben comes to 38 Studios from Vermont, where he worked for several years in the state's meager film industry as a writer, director, editor, animator, camera man, and occasional sound guy. Some of his credits include Disappearances, Shout it Out, Illegal Aliens, Corporate Affairs, Arachnia, and a host of other low-budget projects. Though this career was far from lucrative, it allowed Ben plenty of time to hone his table tennis and Ultimate Frisbee skills, which will no doubt serve him well as an employee of 38 Studios. It also left him ample time to play video games which, along with film, has been a life-long passion.
More recently Ben put his drawing skills to work, contributing character art to Laserface Jones vs. The Doomsday Odious, winner of best graphics, best game play, best sound/music, best presentation, third place in story, and best overall game at the uDevGames contest. He also co-created, along with Rich Gallup, the internet sensation Wizards vs. Cyborgs (in which he played the wizard), winner of the prestigious Giant Bomb GOTY award for “Best Project by Someone We All Used to Work With.”
New to the game industry, Ben is looking forward to using his talents to pair new game creation skills with the possibilities of visual storytelling in an awesome online video game experience.
