The week of August 3rd was a busy week at 38 Studios. Two sets of distinguished guests dazzled us with their wit, knowledge, and generosity.
On August 6, 38 Studios was visited by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, respected New York Times bestselling authors of the new book, The Winds of Dune, the sequel to Dune Messiah. They graciously dropped by 38 while on their Boston book tour to give us some insights into what it's like to write in the Dune universe, how their partnership works, and other thoughts on life. 38 then gave Brian and Kevin a break from signing books and showed them around the studio to check out what we've been working on.
Brian and Kevin have many fans in the office, so it was a treat to have them stop by and spend some time with us. Check out Kevin's blog to read his notes about the visit to the studio. Many thanks to both of them and to TOR Books for arranging the visit!
Woody Hearn, an 18 year veteran of professional illustration, design, and production artwork, also dropped by to entertain and be entertained. His current endeavor is the gaming comic semi-hit, GU Comics, a single panel web-comic published for free five times a week. Born of the MMOG community, GU has, of late, branched out to address more of the gaming world.
Woody was in the Boston area for a visit after demonstrating his trade at ConnectiCon. For more information on Woody and his work, please swing by www.gucomics.com and check it out.
