One Empire Plaza in downtown Providence, Rhode Island will soon be the new corporate headquarters for 38 Studios. On September 23rd, the company announced that it has executed a lease for the six-story 104,000-square-foot building located diagonally across Empire Street from Trinity Repertory Company. The parcel contains a pedestrian plaza and is bordered by Empire, Washington and Walnut Streets, as well as the pedestrian portion of Westminster Street.
“Providence offers a central location with a vibrant mix of office buildings, restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as a rich pool of talent from nearby universities,” said Jen MacLean, chief executive officer of 38 Studios. “We are proud and excited to be making this move and believe our presence will be mutually beneficial to both 38 Studios and the city of Providence.”
38 Studios expects to base 450 employees in Providence by 2012. The company is currently headquartered in Maynard, Massachusetts.
