HOW COOL WOULD IT BE IF...?

38 Studios is everywhere!

Last Thursday was a busy day for a couple of the game industry veterans at 38 Studios. In Cambridge, Massachusetts, 38’s CEO Jen MacLean joined four other prominent industry leaders at the latest Mass Technology Leadership Council's panel to discuss, “Digital Games: All Fun and Games or a Dominant Form of New Media?” The panel investigated the idea that games will soon become the dominant broadcast media for consumers, and how media companies are dealing with this change. The Mass Technology Leadership Council hosts educational programs and other events that help foster communication, learning, and networking among technology companies in Massachusetts and beyond.

On the opposite coast, Thursday was also a busy day for senior writer Nancy Berman. She traveled to Cal State Northridge to be a guest lecturer for Professor Ari Danesh's class focused on computer-based interactive multimedia. Her lecture, “Writing for Saturday Morning Cartoons,” engaged students in a lively discussion and Q&A.

Wrapping up a week of appearances, Thom Ang, 38’s director of art, participated in a panel discussion at MIT this past Tuesday hosted by the North East Digital Artists Group (NEDAG), a volunteer organization whose purpose is to promote the development of 3d artists in the northeast. The panel, entitled, “Jobs in 3D,” included staff from Harmonix, the New England Institute of Art, and DigiZyme.

You never know where 38 Studios’ team members will show up next, so keep your eyes (and ears) open!
