Summary
 
The Quality Assurance team is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to work on designing, building and executing manual and automated suites to test 38 Studios platform technologies.
 
Position Responsibilities

• Design and develop a test framework that will be used to test the 38 Studios platform technologies.
• Execute manual and automated tests.
• Develop and generate reporting for the automated testing results.
• Reproduce and isolate all defects found.
• Document and enter defects into the defect tracking system.

 
Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements
 
Knowledge

• A solid understanding of test methodologies and processes, including test case execution and progress tracking.
• Experience creating a test framework in a test driven development environment.
• Ability to identify hardware and software bottlenecks.
• Experience testing and developing test frameworks for a distributed system.
• Strong knowledge of Python.
• Experience with Scala or Java.
• Experience with system and networking monitoring tools.
• Experience with virtualization, preferably VMWare.
• Understanding of networking protocols: TCP/UDP, HTTP[S], SNMP, POP3/SMTP.
• Understanding of web security, OAuth/OpenID.
• Experience with JUnit, ScUnit, Scaladoc, JavaDoc, JMeter.
• Database experience, preferably with MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with Hudson build systems a plus.
• Ability to function within multiple simultaneous QA projects across various products and initiatives.

 Competencies

• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Excellent organization and efficient time management skills are required.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to write understandable, reproducible defect reports.
• Ability to work effectively on large teams in a deadline-driven environment. 

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of Quality Assurance experience.
• Minimum 2 years of automation experience.
• Experience working within a Scrum development environment is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
