Summary
 
The Payroll & HR Coordinator's job entails payroll administration and processing in addition to providing support, guidance, and coordination in every aspect of Human Resources.
 
Position Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day payroll administration, including weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing, report generation, collecting timesheets, and acting as initial degree of contact for inquiries and issues related to payroll.
• Perform manual update of vacation accruals.
• Prepare, review, interpret and analyze a variety of data, information and reports.
• Respond to outside inquiries from state agencies requiring payroll information.
• Coordinate, organize and participate in the new-hire on-boarding process, including document preparation, first day synchronization, and seamless employee integration into the studio.
• Support in completion of job application materials and documents.
• Participate in the department's monthly planning session, including crew retrospectives and prospective goals.
• Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

                   
Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements
Knowledge

• Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax law.
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll.
• Exposure to Paychex or ADP payroll processing.

 
Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects.
• Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
• Able to deliver effective results, and meet tight deadlines and targets.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.

 
Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources or related field.
• 3-5 years experience including hands-on payroll processing.
